Today in class we worked individually or in groups of two and created a poster based on our learning about energy types and forms.  The requirements for the posters are below.

Bungeeeeeeeeee.......

Today, we bungeed!  Great times in Science class today when we found out the answer to the question "How does the amount of mass affect the distance the mermaid bungees?"  I heard some amazing discussions using proper vocabulary in context.  Students collected data, calculated averages and were to write a proper conclusion based on their data results.  Investigative plans, data and conclusions are due tomorrow, Friday.

Investigative Planning Of The Bungee Jump

Today, we revisted writing investigative plans.  Students were to write a complete investigative plan based on a given question.  This is a review and will be on the MSP in the Spring.  We will actually do the lab on Thursday.

Mermaid Bungee Jump

Today we worked on a mermaid bungee jump, collecting data, creating a scatter plot and then making some predictions of a bungee jump on a greater scale.  Tomorrow, we will build on this concept with doing an investigative plan based on a similar idea and incorporating energy knowledge into our plan.

Chapter 4 Energy

Today in class, we went academic and students read Chapter 4 Lesson 1 and 2 over types of energy and forms of energy.  They were to complete the worksheet below for reference.  We will need it when we debate.

Gravitational and Elastic Potential Energy Lab

Who knew you could actually learn something playing with rubber bouncy balls and rubber bands.  Well, you can and if you were in class, you DID!  We did a lab on Friday and learned a little.  The document isn't attached, but if you were gone, I have one in class!

Bill Nye: The Science Guy

Today on our shorter class period day, we reviewed our worksheet that was for homework and then headed to watch Bill Nye: Energy.  Students had a worksheet (see below) to complete that went along with the video.  The link to the video is below as well a link to a review Tackk about Potential and Kinetic Energy.

Welcome Back!

Back to school, back to reality.....Here we go!  Today and yesterday, we worked on a practice MSP test.  It is a review of what we have worked on in the fall and will be on their MSP.  We worked on pages 2-5 yesterday and on the rest today.  We also watched a couple short videos to help understand a couple concepts that haven't been covered yet.
