Friction In Our Classroom

Today in class we reinforced our knowledge about friction and gravity by doing an online activity at the following site:Friction Activity  There is  a worksheet below that students need to complete as they go through the activity and answer questions that go along with it.  We also watched a video about NASCAR and how friction plays a role in the sport.

From the video, answer the following questions:
1.  Name at least 5 ways friction plays a role.
2.  What is Mu?
3.  What is the formula for Mu?

Friction vs Gravity

We read Chapter 2, Lesson 2 today in class.  Pages 36-43 and completed the questions as we went.  The focus of the lesson is friction, the different types of friction and gravity.  Once done with the reading, students were to complete the worksheets over the reading below.  We also watched the video about the physics of the sport of Curling.
