How Sound Travels


Yesterday, we read Chapter 2 Lesson 1.  In 5/6th periods, vocabulary was assigned.  It is due on Friday.  It will be assigned to 4th period today.  Today in class, we will read Chapter 2 Lesson 5.  There is a test over the vocabulary as well as the reading of 1.1  1.2  2.1 and 2.5 on Friday!  The 3rd quarter is almost over!  Finish strong 8th graders!

Chapter 4 Test


There is a test Tuesday over Chapter 4.  You must know absolutely everything including vocabulary and concepts within the chapter.  You will also need to provide real life examples of energy types and forms and transformations.  Have a great weekend and please study. See you Tuesday.

Crash Test Dummies Lab


Newton's Laws of Motion Project was due today.  I look forward to seeing the amazing work all have put into it.  Today in class, we applied Newton's Laws of Physics and did a crash test dummy lab. The only supplies needed are a Hot Wheels car and a chunk of clay.  The lab and all the details are below.

A Week of Newton's


Today we had a powerpoint (my fave) about Newton's Three Laws of Motion.  Once done, we had a worksheet over those lovely laws.  See below.  You should also be working on your project about Newton's Laws.   It is a TEST grade and is DUE THURSDAY.

Test Day!



Today was test day over Chapter One in the Forces and Motion textbook.  Students did really well overall.  I was very impressed with all three classes test scores.  Great job to you all!

Review Day! Test Tomorrow

In class today, we worked on going over the homework assigned on Friday.  We then did a review of concepts for the test tomorrow.  A study guide was passed out as well.  A 35 question test right before Turkey Day.  Work hard, study harder!

Scientific Inquiry

After receiving back our tests and going over them today the students did a worksheet that had them apply the components of scientific inquiry.  This was a fun way to review previous concepts learned in their science years.  The worksheet that they worked on is below.

Tomorrow is TEST DAY!



Today we went over the metric packet and focused on the concepts from it that will be on the test tomorrow!  The students were also assigned a crossword as a review for their test tomorrow.  Students were also given a study guide review sheet to use for studying tonight.  The test tomorrow consists of 50 multiple choice questions along with a short answer question.  Be prepared!

Metric Review


Today was all review of the metric system.   It was conversion from one unit to another as well as understanding the values of the prefixes.  The worksheet also applied the use of the metric system into different situations.  There will be a TEST over this as well as other concepts either Tuesday or Wednesday next week.  Stay tuned.
